How the days fly by...

Days just seem to turn into weeks around here, it seems. I have been meaning to get on here with some updates, and now that I'm here I see haven't posted since 11/17! I have to mention that we had a wonderful Thanksgiving. The pictures of it are on real film so I'll have to get those processed and post them. We had Thanksgiving with the Morin family (since we are living there, how convienent). It was a great time. Judah tasted everything on the table and enjoyed it all. I think the highlight of Thanksgiving for him was eating the leftovers with Grandpa (who was more than willing to share I might add). All in all we had a very nice time.

We also just had our Christmas pictures done. We had a family one and one of Judah in a little Santa suit. I will scan those and post them as soon as we get them back. I know we will have a ton of the wallet size of Judah, so if anyone is interested, please e-mail me and let me know! I can't wait to see them myself!

We are now looking forward to spending some quality time with Jacob's family in Wyoming. We are leaving the end of next week and will get to spend two weeks out there! It will be Judah and my first time out there! We are all very excited (as is Jacob's family). That's about all the new for now. We are all healthy and well and excited for Christmas.

Our Vermont Vacation...

What a fun time we had in Vermont! We left around 11AM on Wednesday the 10th and arrived at The Von Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe around 3:30PM after stopping in Lebanon, NH for lunch. Ben came with us, along with his friend Chris because neither of them had school Thursday or Friday, so they got to skip on Wednesday.

When we got up there, there was some snow on the ground and there were icicles hanging off of the eaves of all of the cottages. The first thing we did when we got in was light a fire in the fireplace. It warmed up the cottage quite nicely. Our first night there we stayed in, watched some TV. and rejoiced in the fact that for the next few days we didn’t have to do anything if we didn’t want to.

On Thursday we all slept in, and then went and had some GREAT Chinese food at a place called Great Wall. After Lunch we went to a glass blowing studio where we were given the fortunate opportunity to see the owner create a piece firsthand! We got some pictures and lots of video. He made a decorative candy dish, it was beautiful. I’m going to include a picture of his shop that we took. We couldn’t really afford to get anything of his, but it was beautiful to look at. After the glass blowing studio we went to Cold Hollow Cider Mill where we got to see how cider is made. They had a HUGE gift shop of all kinds of things from Vermont, from maple syrup and candy to everything you could imagine that’s made from apples (including cider donuts, which we partook of). They had another building that contained things like scarves, hats, gloves, Christmas ornaments, etc. that we also went to. The woman there told us all about the Von Trapp family and we got to hear Elisabeth Von Trapp’s music playing in the background. From Cold Hollow we made our way back to the cottage and spent time together playing some games and having fun together.

Friday began much the same as Thursday, only after lunch we went to Lake Champlain Chocolates and the Vermont Cabot Cheese store where we tasted all kinds of samples and ended up leaving with all kinds of different chocolates and candies, which we shared on our way out. We then headed over to Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream Factory (one of two in the US) where we got to take a tour and get free samples! We got to taste chocolate chip cookie dough and mango sorbet. They were great of course. The plant was really neat; it’s open 24 hours a day, 5 days a week. In one 16-hour shift they put out about 160,000 pints of ice-cream, and this is their small factory! We also got to see a video about the beginnings of the company and some fun facts, such as: they are now owned by Unilever (the same company that makes Dove and Suave products)!

After Ben & Jerry’s we went back to the cottage and decided to check out the pool in the fitness center. We got Judah a little swim diaper (which looks just like a metallic sky blue Speedo) which he looked absolutely adorable in! Come to find out, he doesn’t like pools much at all. They were just a little too big and different than his bathtub that he’s used to. We’ll just have to keep trying. After the pool, we went back and just hung out and relaxed for our last night there.

On Saturday we packed up all our things and headed over to the lodge to take some pictures before leaving. On the way back home we stopped in Lebanon again, only this time to check out the L.L. Bean Factory Store! What a fun place. From there we headed home.

Despite the fact that Judah had ear infections in both ears during our trip (which we just found out on Monday) we had a great time! We didn’t get much sleep, but it was worth it. We can’t wait for next year!

...and the Prince says....

Well it's finally happened, Judah said, "dada" for the very first time! This past wednesday (Oct. 27th) are when the words finally came out! Jacob and I were ecstatic! We did get some of it on video (on the digital camera video), so we plan to get some copies out to some of you, so you can enjoy it as well. He also just graduated from his carrier to a forward facing car seat/booster, which will be good until he is big enough to sit in the car with the regular seatbelt. H e is really enjoying being able to see everything going on around him as well as watching mom and dad.

As for Jacob and I, Jacob currently is fighting a cold (please keep him in your prayers) and I had my first visit to the chiropractor yesterday! I guess the pain in my back is very common in nursing mothers. So we're both looking forward to a speedy recovery. Praise God for Vitamin C!

That's about all the news for now, we're looking forward to our Christmas Vacation and Judah is continuing to surprise and amaze us all.

Family Update...

Well for the news from the Adamos… not much is going on, other than work as usual, but I know that many of you have asked for some pictures, so this blog will be mostly pictures. I’ve included a wedding picture as well as some pictures of Judah. Judah will be 7 months this weekend! Also included is a picture of our new car! Instead of me getting paid, I'm getting a car!

Last weekend my parents went to NH to visit my uncle, and while they were up there went 4-wheeling and saw the beautiful fall foliage, so I included some pictures of that as well.

In early November we’re hoping to go up to Von Trapp Family Lodge for few days in Stowe, VT. We’ll try and get some pictures while we’re up there. Also on our list of Travels is Christmas in Wyoming! So look for some great family pictures in January.

Jacob and I will try and keep this site updated, but if there’s anything specific you want to ask, you know where to send the mail.

Enjoy this post… and Go Red Sox!

Some brief Election Rantings

I'm sorry, but I have to get some of this out and off my chest.

What is wrong with this country when we will allow a Senator to level a Federal Lawsuit against the President of the United States for acting upon his legal powers. Is Ted Kennedy that secure in his liberal super-hero image (which to me looks an aweful lot like a pair of "Depends" and a soiled bed sheet, but whatever), that he now believes he can single handedly revise the Constitution to suit his personal taste? I mean seriously here... just how much more power are we going to give the Judiciary System in this country? This would enable a single Senator to essentially have veto power over Presidential nominations!
And don't even get me started on the Democratic Party's use of the legal system to already attempt to disrupt the election. Florida's votes are already the target of legal action? No-one's even voted yet! All this says to me is that the preliminaries that they ran were showing a Bush victory, so they're trying to screw things up before it even takes place. Talk about desparate measures. When a country has to bring it's Judicial System in to ensure a "fair" election it signals the departure of a Democratic Republic and the entry of a new and much more dangerous form of "democracy" under Federal control.

Well, on that cheerful note I'm back to work... feel free to post more ravings below mine if you care to. Take care.

Captain's Blog - Star Date 10/16

Greetings and Salutations!

Even as you read this the weather is cooling off, and the time for Cranberry harvest is upon us here in Cape Cod! I awaken each morning to a light mist, and the chilly salt-spray breeze that I have come to love. The leaves are changing and I am once again reminded of the amazing power and love of our Creator.

With all the turmoil in the election happening it's nice to be able to breathe a slow breath, smell the sea, stare out over endless miles of peaceful ocean, and know that not all the world shares the agony of man's upheaval and strivings.

I hope that everyone reading this has a wonderful day, and takes time out to share a peaceful moment with God's creation and realize that He truly does have the "Whole world in His hands".
God Bless and take care my friends.
