As Promised...

I finally got the B&W film developed so I thought I would post some of the better ones! I hope you enjoy them. They turned out really well. Alex & Kristen you guys make the pictures just that much better! :-)

Spring it seems has decided to be a bit fickle this year. It has been quite warm the past few days, but today we are supposed to get some more snow! I'm very sad about that, I am very much looking forward to the warmer weather.

Speaking of warmer weather... it is official... we are closing on a piece of property in Oriental, NC. We are very excited about what God has for our future in the next year or so. He has really shown his presence in our lives in the past few months and we are anxious to see what he has planned for us next.

Jacob has been working on learning the kitchen design program at work while I'm still working on learning a program to help streamline everthing at work. Judah has been growing like a weed and is getting more and more daring by the day. He has yet to take any steps but I think in the next few weeks that will all change. Monday is his 1st. birthday! I can't believe it! We're excited and are definately going to get the whole 1st. birthday fiasco on film... so don't worry, you'll be able to see it!

Fifteen Days after Judah's birthday is our 2nd. anniversary!!! I guess the traditional gift for that is cotton... anyone have any ideas? Also 3 days before our anniversary is my birthday... last year at that time I was sooo exhausted from having Judah, my birthday just did not seem to matter as much. Maybe it's a mom thing. Any moms out there want to comment?

Well I hope that this post has brightened up your day! Enjoy the pictures!

God Bless!

Our trip to New Bern, North Carolina

We are finally back after four greuling days of looking at real estate. The area that we are looking in North Carolina is really hot right now. About 90% of the things we looked at were already sold or sale pending. It is really exciting to watch what is going on down there and Lord willing become a part of if. We did make an offer on a piece of property. We are in the negotiating phase of it right now. This is all very exciting. If this comes through we'll be land owners!

It took about 14 hours of driving to get down there (not counting stops). So we did most of it in one day, and the small remainder the next day. Going down we left just before the storm hit Cape Cod, but since it was going north and we were going south we collided and were forced to stay our first night in Dover, DE. We made it into New Bern around 4 on friday and hooked up with Alex and Kristen. We were all staying in the same hotel. We were even lucky enough to get rooms next to each other. We stayed in a Days Inn which was nice, clean, etc. BUT it was in the ghetto none the less. Right next-door to the hotel was a barber shop/bail bond place! Ha ha go figure. Since we were on the fourth floor we weren't too worried. We went out to dinner with Alex and Kristen on friday and spent some quality time catching up with one another. For those of you who are lucky to live near close friends, you are TRULY blessed! This is our first step towards getting this to happen, as long as it's God's will for the four of us (which we hope it is).
We spent all day Saturday looking at different properties and driving all around the area to see what we thought of it. Jacob was the only one of the four of us who had been to New Bern before. We went down to Fairfield Harbor, Quail Woods, and Riverbend. It was a long day, but we had a lot of fun. On Sunday morning we went out to a park near the river in New Bern and took a lot of pictures. I used a B&W camera and I have about 5 shots left before I get it developed, but I'll post some when I get them done. Kristen took some pictures as well and she'll probably post some on their blog as well.

After Alex and Kristen left to go home we met some friends from our church up here who have land in Oriental to go check out some properties with them. We ended up spending all day sunday, and all day monday looking at properties in Oriental. We made an offer on one and are praying and excited to hear the results.

Overall we had a fantastic time. It was our first time away from Judah. That was really hard, but it was a nice break. He stayed with my parents and was VERY good (which I'm very glad about because I was worried). It was nice to not have him with us, because it was a LONG drive and a lot of time spent looking at land from a car. He would have been bored out of his little mind. Thank you Mom & Dad for taking such wonderful care of our little man. In other Judah news... he turns 1 on the 28th!!!!! I can't believe it! Time certainly has flown by.

God Bless! Have a GREAT week!
