Some fun Black and Whites...
Asher & Jacob
Judah & Jacob
It has been too long!
March came quickly with much to celebrate. The boys each had a birthday, Judah turned 3 and Asher turned 1! That was quite a shock. It's hard to believe Asher's been around a year! :-) We also were able to take a weekend and visit with Chris and Beth in Virginia. Beth's dad passed away and we were able to spend some time with her and give her a happy break. I hadn't seen Beth in almost 2 years and it had been 3 since they had seen Jacob, so it was a really fun time. We also got to meet Abigail their new baby. We got to all go swimming, and it was great because it was Abigail and Ashers first time.
We actually didn't celebrate the boys birthdays until April when my parents came down to visit. The best part (for the boys) was that for their birthday we decided to get a puppy! Her name is Sasha (Russian for Alex, we found out AFTER we named her). She was born on Feb. 12th to the dog next door, Martha. Martha is a black lab and we're not sure what the father is. We think it's either a lab or maybe a hound or boxer (b/c of Sasha's coloring). Martha had 10 puppies (1 didn't make it) and so we went over to look. When we asked our neighbor what he was going to sell them for, he said, "oh I'm just going to give them away." So that's when the gears really started turning. Jacob and I made a couple visits and watched all the puppies and got to know them in order to decide which one we thought would be the best fit for our family. We finally decided and gave her to the boys at their "birthday party." She's been a great fit for us and the boys are really enjoying having her to play with. Judah seems to have more fun with her than Asher, but Asher is still little too. We're happy to add that Sasha now sleeps through the night and is house trained (oh the irony... as I'm typing this she has an accident)! We're in the process of teaching her to "sit" and "stay". We finally have "come" down. :-) The other wonderful thing was that Asher started walking when my parents were here! It was great for them to be able to be a part of that and we are all very happy that he is walking because he weighs almost as much as Judah!!! Judah is also learning to read... he asked me to teach him and that is something that we're currently working on. He has the sounds of R M A S E and T down and we're working on adding to that.
Also in April was my (Sarah's) 25th birthday! It wasn't as exciting as I thought it would be. It was a little melancholy. It was reminiscent of 13 when you finally are considered to no longer be a kid but you're not yet an adult. 25 was like "I'm no longer in that 24 and under young college age group" I know that 25 is definitely not old, but it wasn't a happy birthday, it just was.
A couple days after my birthday was our 4 year anniversary! Four years and 2.3 children (.3 is the dog, so no, I'm not pregnant *L*) wow do we fit a statistic or what? Although not the statistic of our age group and number of children, that's for sure! We've really enjoy the last four years and have grown and learned so much together. It's truly amazing how far we have come! I can only give the glory to God for what we have achieved. We're looking forward to the big "5" next year. :-)
April also kicked off Jacob actually doing landscaping! Todd came down for a visit to check out the area and give Jacob some landscaping tips and tricks. We had a lot of fun and are praying that Coastal Carolina is where God is leading he and his family. It'd be nice to have some friends our age here! Jacob has been selling his rear end off (no pun intended) :-) and has been seeing AMAZING results. He started work on his first job yesterday and was excited because he got to use a bulldozer/backhoe (it must go along with those Tonka truck dreams in the sandbox every little boy has). Judah thought it was sooooooo cool that "Daddy got to giiiive (rhymes with drive) a bulldozah" We're excited about how well everything is going and are praying that it continues to do so!
So that is our crazy life. I hope you enjoyed it! I'll try to keep up with at least pics! It takes a little while since we have dial-up... but enjoy! Also if you haven't yet seen pictures of the puppy... check out this link: http://liberty.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2081518&l=bf0b7&id=55713753

Merry Christmas 2006!
Christmas morning was a lot of laughs. It was Asher’s first Christmas so he didn’t really know what was going on. He enjoyed watching everyone else opening presents and playing with all the packaging. Alex and Kristen got him his own roll of wrapping paper which he had fun with, chasing it all around. Judah got the surprise of his life when he walked out of his room. We did end up getting him the little John Deere Tractor and he did a double-take when he saw it. He started backing up to the bathroom just staring at it and in a VERY scared voice said, “A lawn mow!?!?!” To which we responded, “no, it’s not a lawn mower, it’s a tractor!” That did not fix the problem and after MUCH persuasion by everyone, he finally got on it. Once he pushed the gas pedal and realized that it didn’t make a huge noise like a lawn mower he did a lot better and even exclaimed, “I CAN drive it!” Judah also got quite a few Veggie Tales “mobies,” a Noah’s Ark, and a bunch of Lightening McQueen things (from “Cars” incase you didn’t know); a little throw blanket, a pillow case (b/c he doesn’t like sheets haha), and a great little pull-back Lightening McQueen car that talks from “Unca Aliss and Auntie Kisstin.” Believe it or not, he’s already killed the first set of batteries in it! It was his favorite toy. For Asher we didn’t do a whole lot, we wanted to keep it low key so he wouldn’t be overwhelmed. So he got some little rubber cars, and balls that have things inside of them that are fun to chase around, and he got some cute clothes. He also got a vibrating cow, yeah if you want more info… you’ll have to ask! Haha!
Everyone pitched in for Christmas Dinner and had a blast doing it. Not a large menu, just a lot of fellowship, laughs and fun.
On the 27th all of us drove up to Virginia to visit Aaron and Venessa. It was the first time in 2 ½ years since we’d all been together. We all got to stay at their house, which housed all of us VERY comfortably! It was a lot of fun, games, and catching up. The boys did wonderfully and really enjoyed spending time with everyone. We all said our goodbyes on the 30th and headed home to have one day before it was back to work for Jacob.
So that was our Christmas Holiday. It was wonderful seeing everyone. We miss you and can’t wait to do it again! To those of you we didn’t get to see… there’s always next year! ;-) I hope that your Christmas was as good! God Bless!
