7 months and still going...
Can you believe it... I'm 7 months along! Yeah I can't either, but I am measuring 2 weeks ahead of schedule, so Jacob and I are thinking maybe Mid-March is more accurate! So far everything is going very well, no problems other than the old stand-bys: heartburn and vericose veins. We've been running at the speed of life so not much has changed since my last post. I'll try to get some belly pictures on here for those of you weirdos who want to see it! ;-) Enjoy the pics of Judah... he was playing and I just had a to take some pictures... he's so funny sometimes.

2006... How Time Flies
A new year, and time for all those "New Years Resolutions".... I don't know about that, I think it's more of a daily struggle than yearly, but hey that's the Christian life right? Just one day at a time. Personally I'd much rather have a God that I know is looking in on me day in and day out instead of some "Santa" where it only matters for one night whether or not you've been good for the whole year, which we all know that no one but Christ would pass that test! Why the rant and rave on the first of the new year... I don't know, just to change it up a little bit. :-) I ought to be resolving to update this blog more frequently ;-) but we'll see what happens.
There is going to be a lot going on in the next few months, especially getting ready for Asher's arrival. We're going to have to do up his room, which thankfully we have almost everything that we need for another baby. Some things need updating, but for the most part we're pretty good. I did make up a baby registry at Target though. There is just something exciting about doing that. I'm trying to get Judah's scrapbook finished before Asher comes. I'm also working on crocheting a blanket for Judah as his "big boy blanket" so that he'll have something new and special and it won't just be "new things for the new baby."
Jacob and I have also been working on a new diet. We're trying to incorporate more whole foods, raw milk and fresh ground grains into our diet. I have a grain mill, and for Christmas I received a bread maker so that we can make our own bread. It's been going very well and I've noticed a lot of positive changes. As far as business goes... things have been going well. Jacob started a new venture which you can see if you go to http://www.jacobadamo.com If you do a lot of shopping online, I ask that use Jacob's site as a portal. It has all the major stores listed there (Target, Walmart, Dell, etc.) and if you purchase anything from any of the websites that you went to through Jacob's site, we actually make a profit and you pay the same price! There's much more to it than that, but much to much for me to explain on our blog. There's a lot more info on his site if you're interested.
As for the past few months... I'll try to summarize... Thanksgiving was a lot of fun. We had it at our house this year. My parents and brothers came, as well as a friend of one of my brothers who is in the military and couldn't make it home for the holiday. We don't have any good pictures of it... it was and "interesting" day if you get my drift, but none the less, enjoyable. December flew by like a flash. We had some snow in the beginning of the month and Judah got to experience that for the first time, he really enjoyed it. I'll have to get some pictures up of that. On the 23rd we held a Christmas party at our house for my brother (who hosted). It was a great success. We had a Yankee Swap and a ton of food and just enjoyed each others company. There were probably about 20-25 people there. Our good friends Rebecca and Eric were able to come, so it was really great to see them and spend some time together.
Christmas was great. Judah got a remote controlled blimp (which Jacob is "allowed" to fly) from Grandpa and Nana Thea which was a BIG hit! We set it up Christmas Eve. Yeah bad idea, never do that, we finished at 12:30 and still had to wrap presents after that, but hey we're still new parents... we're learning! So Christmas morning while Judah was sitting in his seat eating breakfast (before presents, since he didn't know what to expect, we all ate first!) Jacob went into the playroom and "drove" the blimp out to Judah. He went crazy with excitement. He thought it was the best thing. I videotaped the whole thing, so we'll have a fun time looking back at that. After a nice breakfast of bagels and lox we opened our gifts. Ironically all we have pictures of are Judah, we forgot to take pictures of each other, but then again once you have kids, mom and dad don't really matter all that much on Christmas morning. :-) I'll have to post those on here as well. Judah also received a Mr. Potato Head (plus 40 pieces!) from Uncle Aaron and Aunt Nessie, he carries it all around and brings me the pieces, which I put in for him, then he'll get others for me to change out, it's really cute. He's starting to figure out how it works. After presents we all had "family nap time" that was wonderful! Then when we woke up, we went over to Grandma and Grandpa's for Christmas dinner. Yum! It was really nice not having to cook and we had a lot of fun over there. Judah got more presents of course, but we tried to keep it to a minimum, so he wouldn't get overwhelmed. Everything went really well. It was a great day.
A few days after Christmas we were able to spend some one-on-one time with Eric and Rebecca. We went out to eat (without Judah!) to the BBC with them and had a wonderful dinner. We were then going to go bowling, but decided to just come back to our place and talk, as not much is open after 9 around here on Tuesday nights. It was great to get some quality time with them since they are moving to the Pacific Northwest! :-( They will be greatly missed, but we also know that it is a great opportunity for them. One of these days we'll get out there!
We spent New Year's Eve at home this year, and listened to the count-down on the radio (I know it sounds sad, but we don't get any TV stations and we're really not into paying $50 a month for cable considering most shows aren't even worth watching anymore). We had our little toast and kissed to bring in the new year while our little handsome boy slept in his room upstairs. How much better can it get!?!
Well that brings us up to today! We had a nice peaceful day, went to church, came home and just relaxed. I hope you had as nice a time... Happy New Year! I'm looking forward to all the things that I'll get to write about in this upcoming year! Enjoy and God Bless!
